Error: mail.mydomain.com does not resolve to an IP address ( exchange 2007 )
Hello Guys,
just a newbie who try his own little server by himself with a little help of specialist like you.
My hardware setup : ibm x346 server quad core xeon 74 gb in raid 1 with 6gb of ram
software : sbs 2008 exchange 2007
my domain name is registered with enom, static IP, dns changed my internet provider ones
I only want to set it up for email access, I need to install blackberry xpress server on the top after that.
new problems and new questions
I installed successfully my ssl certificate from digicert the ucc one at this morning for mail.mydomain.com , owa.mydomain.com , autodiscover.mydomain.com
http://www.digicert.com/unified-communications-ssl-tls.htm
when I ran the test SSL Installation Diagnostics - Check SSL Certificate from :
http://www.digicert.com/help/
I got this error :
Error: mail.mydomain.com does not resolve to an IP address.
DNS issues I guess, in the dns settings of my domain name registrar I put the one of my internet provider, anyone have an idea how to solve this problem ?
New Questions :
my server is at home and I pass all my time at the office, on the server I have the x346 there is an RJ45 remote plug where I connect a cable, what is the way to access my server from office to access it ?
When this IP problem will be resolved, could I send and receive mail with no problem finally ? Like with a standard setup in my microsoft outlook on my laptop ?
thank you

You need to talk to your public DNS provider so a public IP points to the external DNS name of mail.mydomain.com
You can also go to www.testexchangeconnctivity.com for Microsoft's test.
